A former nightclub could be given a new lease of life if a new licence is granted for the premises.

RIMM Developments Ltd has applied for a licence for the Old Post Office building in Rockingham Road, Corby.

The application is for the provision of live and recorded music, late night refreshment and supply of alcohol.

Signs have also recently gone up on the outside of the building promoting Decades bar and pizza place.

The property used to be Storm and Madisons, but the Northamptonshire Telegraph reported in January 2012 that the club was closing.

At the time, the club owner said the closure was down to a lack of business which was affecting a number of similar businesses.

The former Post Office building was built in the 1940s and had been a nightclub for more than 15 years before it closed.

This new licence application is for live and recorded music and opening hours from 11am to 4am Monday to Sunday, late night refreshment from 11pm to 4am Monday to Sunday and the sale of alcohol from 11am to 3.30am Monday to Sunday.

Anyone wishing to comment on the application has until July 21 to do so by contacting Corby Council or sending an email to licensing@corby.gov.uk
