Grace said: “We are incredibly excited to be bringing this to the local community.

“Since moving to Rothwell a year ago we have fallen in love with the area, and as a passionate Montessori-trained practitioner and early years teacher I can’t wait to get started.

“There is a real magic to Montessori education.

“Giving children the right environment and materials to guide their own education and become independent little people is a real privilege.

“In Montessori schools we aim to instil self-esteem, a care for others and a love of learning that lasts them a lifetime.”

The nursery will provide children with forest school education, with toddlers showing off their ability to saw wood and cook on open fires.

Husband Tom said: “Forest School follows the Montessori principles of giving children the knowledge, time and skills to become independent, responsible learners.

“It’s amazing because it can do all this by letting them get muddy, build dens, use tools and connect with nature in a meaningful way.

“Children talk about their forest school experiences for days afterwards.

“You really see them come alive.”
