Two flagpoles have been put up at Corby war memorial thanks to county councillor Stan Heggs.
He bought the flagpoles using £1,400 from his empowering councillors allowance.
Cllr Heggs, who represents the Corby rural area, said: “I was very pleased to provide the funding for the flagpoles and I’m delighted with how they look.”
Gareth Price, chairman of the Corby and District branch of the Royal British Legion, said: “We are pleased that Stan agreed to make the funding available. The flagpoles make a big difference to how the war memorial looks and it’s a nice gesture for the town.”
