Empty properties in Canada Square, Corby, were used as a training location for new firefighters.

Four instructors set up a realistic training session for eight trainees using the properties on the Kingswood estate.

Station Manager, Kevin Denham, of the Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service, said: “By using real properties in the community our fire officers receive training in unfamiliar settings which all helps contribute to their skills when they are facing a genuine incident.”

No smoke, fire or water was used during the training session.
