A new disability sports club is being launched in Corby for people over eight years old.
More details about the project by Corby Council, Northamptonshire Sport, Northamptonshire Federation of Disability Sport and Inclusive Fitness will be revealed at an open day on Friday, May 31, from 2pm until 4pm, at Lodge Park Sports Centre, Shetland Way, Corby.
People who go along will be able to find out what will be on offer at the weekly club, which will hold its first meeting on Thursday, June 6.
The club will offer a variety of sports for people of all abilities including, archery, boccia, new age kurling, tennis, parachute games and cricket.
Corby Council’s lead member for community, Cllr John McGhee, said: “Corby is always moving forward in keeping people healthy and active. We want to make sure there is something for everyone, so I am very pleased that our first disability club is opening its doors.
“Why not come along to the open day, meet some new people and learn more of what will be on offer as I’m sure this will be an opportunity not to be missed.”
