Kettering’s Museum and Art Gallery are hosting a number of Wild Things-themed workshops over the summer.
The events run every day from Tuesday to Friday at 11am until September 4, at the Manor House Museum in the town centre.
The workshops are suitable for children aged three and over and activities will range from painting and colouring to other craft skills.
Each session will run for an hour and booking is highly recommended. Workshops are charged at £3 per child, £2 with a Kettering leisure pass and free to young friends of the Museum and Art Gallery. To book a workshop session call 01536 534219 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Valerie Hitchman, head of community services at Kettering council, encouraged children’s interest in the museum, saying: “Every year the Museum and Gallery provide a great selection of activities to entertain local young people. It is lovely to see children creating things themselves by actually getting hands on and using their creative and practical skills”.
Cllr Jan Smith, portfolio holder for community and culture, added: “It’s good to see Kettering Museum and Gallery hosting yet another family friendly set of activities for the school holidays, adding to the fantastic summer holiday programme already on offer this year in Kettering.
“We hope it engenders a local interest in preserving and learning from history”.
Entrance to the museum’s permanent and temporary exhibitions are free of charge throughout the summer and further information can be found on the Museum’s website www.kettering.gov.uk/museums. The Museum and Art Gallery are open from Tuesday to Saturday between 10am and 4.45pm.
