Police warned motorists to expect delays in Kettering today because of a large funeral in Broughton and Kettering.

There were a number of temporary road closures in and around Kettering in the morning and lunchtime to manage the large amount of vehicles which attended a funeral in the town.

About 500 vehicles left Broughton at about 11am and travelled to the Catholic church, London Road, Kettering, via Northampton Road, for a service.

The cortege then left the church at about 12.30pm and travelled to the crematorium in Rothwell Road.

Temporary road closures were in place while the funeral party travelled to the church and crematorium to manage any congestion the large amount of traffic caused.
