Motorists travelling along the A14 towards Kettering will face disruption and delays next week.
Overnight traffic heading east from the Catthorpe interchange will be signed off the A45 onto the A43 on Wednesday and Thursday nights, December 10 and 11, the Highways Agency has said.
From 9pm to 6am the section of the A14 from the M1 to junction one will be closed on both nights for construction work on the junction.
On Wednesday night traffic on the eastbound carriageway will be diverted on the M1 southbound to junction 15 where they can join the A45 and access the A14 at junction 13.
This route will be reversed on Thursday night and westbound traffic will be diverted from the A14 at junction 13 to the A45 where it can re-join the the M1 at junction 19.
Highways Agency Project Manager Ivan Marriott said the work had been planned overnight to minimise disruption but advises motorists to plan extra time for their journeys.
Next week’s work is the next stage in a £191m scheme to build a link road joining the M6 with the A14.
Mr Marriott said: “Once completed, the scheme will help boost the local economy and drivers can expect improved journey times around this busy junction.”
