Motorist robbed after being flagged down in village near Oundle

A motorist has been robbed after a man ran in front of her car, flagged her down and tried to pull her from the vehicle.

The female victim was driving along Causin Way in Lower Benefield near Oundle between 4.40pm and 4.50pm on Tuesday, January 7.

The man, who is described as black, aged 25 to 30, approximately 5ft 9in and of medium build, ran out in front of her and flagged her down.

She stopped the car and he opened the driver’s door, grabbed her hair, and tried to pull her out of the car.

The offender then took her Garmin Nuvi 52 sat nav, and attempted to open the boot. He was unable to do this and at this point he ran off in the direction of Upper Benefield.

The man was wearing a bright-orange hooded jacket with stripes down the arms, dark jeans and dark trainers. He wore a black balaclava.
