Supermarket giant Morrisons has applied to extend the opening hours of some of its stores in Northamptonshire until midnight during the festive season.

The supermarket in Wellingborough and Corby has applied to the council to open from 6am to midnight every day of the week, although it is unlikely it would open these hours on Sundays.

The store currently opens 7am to 10pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.

A spokesman said: “We want to make shopping trips easier for customers over the busy Christmas period.

“The application to extend our opening hours from 6am to midnight will mean shoppers can visit the store at a time to suit them.”

Opening hours for Morrisons in Northampton and Kettering will remain the same, according to the spokesman.
