A church in Corby is to hold a fundraising day to coincide with the launch of a new edition of Monopoly.

Monopoly Serbia is to be released on Tuesday, December 1, and at the Serbian Orthodox Church and Memorial Hall the following Saturday (December 5) there will be a chance to meet Mr Monopoly himself and buy copies of the new game.

There will also be a bouncy castle, cakes and a giant board for families to play on.

All proceeds from the day, which runs from midday to 4pm, will go towards building repairs and the upkeep of the property, 47 Rockingham Road, Corby.

Lazar Vukovic from the church said: “Corby has a relatively large Serbian population post-World War Two where they came to work at British Steel.

“Since then they have settled and been a positive part of the local community.

“We would like to welcome all Monopoly lovers to come and join the fun.”
