A minister has promised to arrange a meeting between Corby businesses and BT to discuss problems with broadband on industrial estates in the town.
Ed Vaizey, minister for culture, communications and creative industries, visited the town last week and addressed a meeting of the Corby Business Group.
The visit was arranged by Conservative Corby and East Northamptonshire Parliamentary candidate Tom Pursglove.
Mr Vaizey also visited Corby library.
Mr Pursglove said: “In an age where more and more work is being carried out online, it is crucial that our businesses are able to access superfast broadband.
“I am therefore very appreciative of the minister offering to set up a meeting for representatives of these small businesses with senior executives at BT in the near future – this is a very positive outcome and will hopefully help to move things forward.”
He also raised local concerns about access to superfast broadband in rural areas, something he said had been raised by many residents.
