Arthur Hollomon, the consort of Rushden Mayor Marian Hollomon, will be taking the plunge down the Express Lift Tower, in Northampton, tomorrow - in a bid to raise cash for Rushden MIND.
Mr Hollomon will be abseiling down the 418 ft tall building at 10am tomorrow morning and he says he’s looking forward to raising money for a ‘great cause.’
He said: “I wanted to raise money for a great cause, and I thought there was nothing better than Rushden MIND. Marian has supported the charity since becoming mayor and I know the fantastic work they do.
“We are looking to raise as much money as we can, as the charity do great work with it and help a lot of people. So, if people can sponsor me, no matter how small, it would be hugely appreciated.
“I would say that I know quite a few people and if everybody who met me sponsored me for one pound it would make a big difference.”
You can sponsor Mr Hollomon by visiting, PW House Jewellers and Jan’s Floral Boutique, on High Street, Rushden, where donations are being collected for the fundraiser. Donations will be collected throughout next week and Mr Hollomon said all will be greatly welcomed.
