A man was trapped between a vehicle ramp and a vehicle at a tyre and service centre in Rushden.
He was released by Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue service and taken to hospital by the air ambulance.
The incident happened at The Orbit Tyre and Service Centre on Skinner’s Hill.
A message on the Orbit Tyre and Service Centre Facebook page said:
“Would just like to shed some light on the incident at Orbit Tyres today. A car has NOT fallen off of a ramp and crushed anyone.
“A vehicle did have a problem with its automatic gear box and drive backwards while unmanned.
“This trapped a member of staff that did need cutting out as the car had run over his leg.
“He was flown to Coventry Hospital via air ambulance and is said to be stable. We would like to thank the patience of everyone who was disrupted by this and also ask that you be respectful of the families involved. As soon as there is any more confirmed info on his health I will be sure to let people know. Many thanks, Ben Joyce.”
Fire service appliances from Rushden and Irthlingborough and the technical rescue vehicle from Mereway, Northampton, attended the incident at 11.26am on Saturday, September 22. The man was released just over an hour later.
