An aggravated burglary took place in Brookside Meadows, Northampton, yesterday afternoon.

A 29-year-old man returned home from work at about 5pm and a few minutes later there was a knock at the front door.

The man opened the door and two men pushed their way inside, threatening the victim with a knife.

The offenders searched the property and made off with a large sum of money.

The victim received cuts and bruises to his face after being punched during the incident.

Both offenders were men aged in their late 20s with Birmingham accents, about 6ft and of average build.

One was of mixed race and wore a blue hooded top and blue trousers.

The second offender wore a black hooded top and black trousers.
