Police managed to persuade a man to get down after spending three hours sat on a ledge at a shopping centre.

Officers were called to the back entrance of the Newlands Centre in Kettering at about 4.20pm on Tuesday.

A man had positioned himself on the edge of the building above the shopping centre’s main office and refused to move.

A police spokesman said officers spent about three hours talking to the man, and were successful in persuading him to get down safely.
