A 42-year-old man who was arrested in July and charged with, causing the death of an Irchester man by careless driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and failing to report an accident has appeared at court today, Thursday.
The arrest was made following the discovery of a man’s body alongside the A45, Northampton on Thursday 12 July.
John Teague, 43, of Rothesay Road, Northampton, appeared before Northampton Magistrates’ Court charged with causing the death of Jack Bristow, from Irchester.
Teague entered no pleas to charges of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop and failing to report to police.
He was granted unconditional bail and will return to court next month for the case to be committed to Northampton Crown Court.
Mr Bristow was found dead on a grass verge next to the A45, close to the Collingtree turn-off, in Northampton, on July 12.
Paying tribute to him, a close family member said: “Jack will live in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him and it’s a real tragedy to lose someone who was so unique like Jack.
“Our family and his two children will struggle to come to terms with it for a long time to come.”
