Man hospitalised after being shot in Rushden

A man was taken to hospital after being shot in the back in Rushden.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident at about 6am on Sunday in Hayway, Rushden.

Two men were approached by two offenders who threatened them with a gun and one of the men was then shot in the back with the gun.

He was taken to University Hospital Coventry, but his injuries were not life-threatening.

A police spokesman said: “We believe that this was an isolated incident and are working hard two identify the two male offenders.

“They are currently following a number of lines of enquiry into the incident.”
