A 75-year-old man was left with serious injuries after he was hit by a car in Weldon.

The man was on the zebra crossing outside the George pub in Stamford Road at about 3pm on Monday, November 24, when he was involved in a collision with a red Rover 25.

The man, who was walking his dog through the village, was left with serious injuries to his head and leg and was taken to hospital by air ambulance.

Roads in the village were closed by police for about three hours.

Officers investigating the incident have asked anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident to call Northamptonshire Police’s Drivewatch Hotline on 0800 174615.
