A man was bitten by a dog after punching a woman in the face in a Corby park.

Police are appealing for information about the incident which took place in Coronation Park, Corby, at 10.15pm on Thursday, September 6.

A 26-year-old woman was walking her dog when she was approached by a man who entered the park from Cottingham Road.

A police spokesman said: “He made verbal advances towards her and then punched her to the face.

“The victim’s dog then bit the offender’s leg which caused him to leave, in the direction of Richmond Road.”

The attacker was a white man, fairly short, and wore blue jeans, a dark top and a dark baseball cap with an emblem on the front.

If anyone knows of anyone with recent injuries to their leg which may have been caused by a dog bite, they should call the police.
