Robbers attacked a dog-walker in a Northamptonshire wood in the early hours of the morning, leaving their victim needing hospital treatment.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted and robbed in Lings Wood, Northampton, on Sunday, October 4, between 1.30am and 2.30am.

The man was walking his dog when he was approached by three men who attacked him and took his wallet.

The 52-year-old victim suffered cuts and bruises and needed hospital treatment.

The offenders were all white and in their late teens to early twenties.
