Make this the year you become who you want to be

Is 2014 the year you will finally get rid of that two stone you have always wanted to lose?

The year you swear that you will become healthier? Or maybe it’s the year you will quit that filthy habit you have become accustomed to?

2014; a new year, with new resolutions to be fulfilled.

As soon as the clock strikes 12 on January 1, thousands of people around the world swear to better themselves, and improve their lives.

One week later, and some of those resolutions we had been so intent on keeping have been forgotten, and pushed to the back of everyone’s mind; we are left feeling regretful and a little bit disappointed in ourselves.

So, if all new year resolutions bring are heartbreak and misery, why do we even bother?

Well, perhaps it’s the hope that every person feels when the first day of the year comes around.

The feel of the unknown and undiscovered, the feeling of a new year to improve.

We all hope that the next year will be better than the rest, and resolutions give us the hope and inspiration that we need to push ourselves, to better ourselves.

As humans we all feel the need to better ourselves, and make ourselves the best people that we can be, and new years brings that opportunity for us.

According to www.parade.com the top new year resolutions are: losing weight, improving finances, exercsing more, finding a new job, eating healthier, managing stress better, to stop smoking, to stop procrastinating, and to find time for yourself.

Is your new year resolution up there? Well even if it’s not, try.

The only things you need to do to achieve those goals which will change you into the person you want to be is to be realistic.

Realise that results don’t happen straight away, and that you won’t be able to instantly become the person you dream of; time is needed.

Believe in yourself, without a doubt the only person who can fight for what you want is you; so if you don’t believe that you can be the person you want to be than you may as well just give up now.

Find some inspiration; maybe in the form of a person, or a show, something that you enjoy that will inspire you to fulfill your resolution and keep you on the right track.

And finally, accept that your results won’t happen straight away. You may have some slip-ups, and few bumps in the road; but that’s life.

Things will get in the way of you reaching your goal, but that will prove to you the strength you have to achieve the goals you want to.
