Have your say

Voters in Corby are being reminded to make sure they are registered so they can have their say at the forthcoming General Election in May.

A spokesman for Corby Council said residents have until April 20 to register in time for the election on May 7, when they will choose their MP as well as their 29 councillors.

Norman Stronach, Corby Council’s acting returning officer and chief executive, said: “Time is now running short to make sure you can take part in the elections, so I’d encourage everyone in the borough to take action now if they aren’t registered to vote.

“Our message is simple: you can’t vote if you aren’t registered by April 20. It’s easy to do and only take a few minutes online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. If you’re not sure, please double check.”

Poll cards are being posted to residents this week. For more information call 01536 464012/14 or email electoral.services@corby.gov.uk.
