Location revealed for '˜magical' Kettering underground music festival

The location of a Kettering music festival full of international artists which promises to be 'magical experience' has been announced.

The Sound in the Woods Festival, which takes place on September 3, will see the woods neighbouring the Sir John Lowther Scout Centre in Glendon transformed into an alternate world full of electronic music and a carnival atmosphere.

The three-stage festival has attracted a number of international artists, with headliners possessing more than 40 top 40 hits between them.

Among those starring is DJ Brandon Block, trance group Signum and grime artists.

Senior production team member James McSweeney says it will be a magical experience for all who attend.

He said: “This event will bring international, underground and chart artists alongside the best in local talent, set on the most beautiful woodland site in the area.

“This is set to be a unique, niche and exclusive festival for the whole family and with our stilt walkers, performance artists, DJs and stage performers will be a truly magical experience for all who attend.”

As well as the impressive music line-up, local theatre group C&D Theatre Productions will be supplying the elves and magical woodland creatures, as well as Glastonbury Festival’s favourite outer space alien invaders, The World Walkers.

Other local businesses, such as The Raj Restaurant and Palmers Butchers, will be running a shisha bar and a Reggae Reggae BBQ.

The stages include The Yards Electronic Main Stage in a circus-style big top tent playing dance classics, house, electro and EDM, as well as the NBR stage playing trance, hard house and UK hardcore.

The Takeover UK stage, hosted by a local fashion designer, will play grime, hip hop and drum and bass, with the Royal Marx stage hosted by local reggae acts.

Camp Soul will be an acoustic music chill-out area hosted by local renowned musician Kenneth J Nash.

There will also be workshops and story times for children.
