Officers and staff across Northamptonshire Police force have expressed their desire to show their support and sympathy following the tragic deaths of PC Fiona Bone and PC Nicola Hughes, whose funerals are being held this week.

Two commemorative events have been arranged locally and have been timed to coincide with the funerals being held at Manchester Cathedral.

There will be an event on Wednesday (October 3) at 12.45pm at the Market Square in Kettering – Nicola Hughes’ funeral commences at 1pm at Manchester Cathedral.

Another event will take place on Thursday (October 4) at 9.45am at All Saints Church in Northampton – Fiona Bone’s funeral commences at 10am at Manchester Cathedral.

The commemorative events are non-denominational and open to all – members of the community are welcome to join officers and staff at either location.

The Force Chaplain will open each event allowing for moments of quiet reflection.

A minute’s silence will coincide with the commencement of the funerals in Manchester.
