Fans are being urged to line the streets for an open bus parade for Corby Town FC to officially celebrate the club’s promotion tonight.

The parade will start at their home ground, Steel Park, at 6.30pm, making its way through the town to the Corby Cube, where Corby Council will be holding a civic reception for the Steelmen.

It follows their recent win which saw them crowned as champions of the Evo-Stick League Southern Premiership.

Corby Council is inviting all residents, football fans or not, to line the route and join the celebrations.

The parade will set off from Steel Park at 6.30pm and then go onto Rockingham Road, Occupation Road, Studfall Avenue, Cottingham Road, Elizabeth Street, Alexandra Road and George Street before finishing at the Cube.

Chief executive of Corby Council, Norman Stronach, said: “This promotion is a great achievement for the club and we wanted to make sure that the borough could celebrate it together.

“We hope that there will be a sea of supporters cheering the Steelmen on as they pass through on Tuesday and showing just how proud Corby is of them.”
