Kettering Council says this year’s town centre beach event was the most popular ever.
Kettering by the Sea, which ended on Sunday, August 18, saw hundreds of youngsters enjoy a wide variety of events and activities, such as the 15-metre sandpit and splash fountains, and entertainment including a live pantomime and West Lodge farm animals.
The event’s culmination coincided with the first ever Kettering festival, which showcased live music and dance and formed the start of the Kettering Culture Walk.
Valerie Hitchman, Kettering Council’s head of community services, said: “Kettering by the Sea is a great, free family event and we are delighted that the sun has shone and families have had a great time.”
Cabinet member Cllr Steve Bellamy added: “Once again Kettering by the Sea has been a fantastic event, drawing hundreds of people into the town centre for fun in the sun.”
