A school has recieved a big donation to help cover the cost of stage lighting.
King John School, in Market Road, Thrapston, was given £7,000 by its Home School Association to replace its old systems.
Staff at the school have been working on securing new stage lighting for two years.
Headteacher John O’Leary said: “The staff and pupils would like to say a huge thank you to the members of the HSA who have worked so hard on our behalf, and we would like to say thank you to all of the parents and visitors who have attended these events and contributed to the new lighting.”
The new lighting will replace the school’s dated system, and will be used at various productions throughout the year.
The HSA managed to raise the cash by hosting the likes of school discos and having a fundraising prescence at the school’s summer fairs and Christmas festivities.
