Shoppers in Corby town centre can find out how to have fun while they dance themselves to fitness.
Louise Slaven Dance will be staging a demonstration of booiaka on Saturday (November 10), from 2pm until 3pm.
If it’s raining the display will take place outside TK Maxx and if it’s dry it will be in Queens Square, near Boots’ store.
Booiaka is a cardio dance that combines a variety of styles including street, hip hop, commercial, Brazilian and Jamaican.
Louise, a local dance teacher and choreographer, runs booiaka classes in Corby, Kettering, Mawsley and Old.
She said: “It’s great fun and people learn a full dance routine. We’re giving the display so that people can see for themselves the results which are possible.”
Booiaka classes are held every Wednesday, from 6pm until 7pm, at Corby Trades and Labour Club and every Saturday, from midday until 1pm, at Oakley Vale Community Centre. Sessions cost £4.
Louise is also choreographing this year’s pantomime for Corby Amateur Dramatic Society’s production of Beauty and the Beast which takes to the stage of The Core theatre from December 27 until December 30.
