Officers are appealing for witnesses following a burglary at a pub in Wellingborough.

The incident took place at the Royal Oak pub in Doddington Road between 7.30pm and 8pm on Tuesday, July 24.

A man entered the pub through a side gate and removed a security box containing a large amount of cash.

The offender then left the pub onto the street, carrying the box and a pair of bolt croppers.

A second man, inside the pub, is believed to have entered a staff only area to give the first offender access.

The first offender was a white man, about 40-years-old, 5ft 11in, of medium build and with a shaved head. He wore a white jacket, black trousers, black gloves and white trainers.

The second offender was a white man, 5ft 6in and of small build. He wore a t-shirt and shorts.
