Kettering General Hospital has refused to release a report into the investigation surrounding the death of Wellingborough teenager Victoria Harrison for fear of endangering the mental health of staff.

Victoria, 17, died hours after undergoing a routine appendix operation at the hospital in August 2012.

Her inquest was held in early December and coroner Anne Pember highlighted a number of failings by the hospital.

However the BBC reported that a Freedom of Information request to have a chronology of events leading up to Victoria’s death had been refused on the grounds it could endanger the mental health of staff.
