A team of young Kettering volunteers has held a cake sale today (Friday, March 28) to raise money for an occupational therapy charity in the town.

The team of 13 from the Prince’s Trust – Kelly, Ryane, Stacey, Kirsty, Nick, Abbie, Curtis, Jonny, Tom, Alex, Dennis, Jacques and Ben – are approaching the end of a 12-week programme which involves work experience, qualifications, practical skills and community projects.

There has also been a residential week which the team carried out in Derbyshire, which involved activities including hiking, abseiling and caving.

Today’s cake sale in Kettering town centre was carried out as part of the programme to raise money for Teamwork Trust, a work-based occupational therapy charity.

The team has thanked local businesses Sainsbury’s Kettering, The Fabulous Baking Birds in Grafton Underwood, Costa Kettering and

Cafe Europa for donating items for sale.

This afternoon, the team members also led a presentation at the Job Centre in Lower Street, Kettering, to let unemployed people know about the Prince’s Trust and what it can offer them.
