A real-life Disney princess from Kettering will be flying the flag for Northamptonshire as she presents the county at the Miss England finals next month.

Jade Willis was crowned Miss Northamptonshire at the Miss England semi-finals at Kelham Hall in Nottinghamshire on Sunday.

Winning the Miss Northamptonshire title means Jade has now secured a place in the Miss England grand finals which take place on July 14 in Birmingham.

She said she decided to enter the competition in 2016 after spending a number of years working in Disney resorts in Paris and Tokyo where she greeted tourists as a Disney princess.

Jade said: “I love everything that the Miss England brand represents. I believe it is so important that we encourage and inspire young girls to feel confident and empowered in their own skin. Not only has Miss England given me the opportunity to raise money for an incredible charity, Beauty with a Purpose, but it has given me a platform to use my voice and encourage others to speak up for what they believe in.“

“In a world that is full of so much hate, we need more people who are looking for the beauty, love, and kindness in the world. People with a heart make a difference and do good towards others. I believe that inner beauty shines brightly and being ‘pretty’ means nothing if you don’t have a soft heart and bright personality.”

Jade thanked her friends and family for their support. She is no stranger to Miss England, having also won a place in last year’s finals after she was crowned Miss Derbyshire.
