A road in Kettering town centre has re-opened following a collision earlier this morning.

The accident, involving two vehicles, happened at the junction between Montagu Street and Eskdaill Street at about 10.40am.

Officers initially shut the road but it re-opened shortly before midday.

A set of traffic lights at the junction had been damaged in the early hours of Saturday morning in an incident involving a police vehicle.

The spokesman added: “Recovery vehicles are at the scene at the moment. An ambulance was called but no injuries were reported.”

Officers said they did not yet know how long the road would be closed for.

More details will be published as they emerge.
