The final step to open up an upmarket restaurant in Kettering has been completed after the building was granted a licence to sell alcohol.

Bosses at Italian-themed chain Prezzo announced their intention to open up a restaurant in the town’s Market Place, if it was granted an alcohol licence.

Kettering Council has confirmed today that no representations were made against the application for the licence, which had a consultation period of 28 days.

Shirley Plenderleith said: “We have not had any objects received for the alcohol license application in the consultation period, and it will be issued within the next couple of days.”

Work is now expected to start on Prezzo opening in one of the units in the restaurant quarter in Market Place.

The unit had stood empty for close to a year.
