PEDESTRIANS are putting their lives at risk by crossing over a busy town roundabout.
This is the warning from Northamptonshire Police after a 34-year-old woman was hit by a car as she crossed directly over the roundabout that links Northfield Avenue, Lower Street and Rothwell Road in Kettering yesterday at 11am.
Officers have admitted they are concerned about people bypassing the pedestrian crossings and walking over the roundabout.
PC James Condon said: “The woman suffered a slight head injury but this could have been worse.
“This is a very busy roundabout and people are putting their lives in danger by crossing directly over it. “There are four separate pedestrian crossings for the public to use at each of the junctions off of the roundabout, and taking a few extra minutes to use them could save lives.”
Witnesses to this incident, or anyone with information, should call Northamptonshire Police on 101,
