A hairdresser from Kettering who is closing her business tomorrow after 10 years in the town has thanked her customers for their loyalty and support over the years.

Karen West, 54, of Karen West Hair Design in Sheep Street, opened her business a decade ago, but has had a long career in hairdressing, spending all her working life in Wellingborough and Kettering.

This Saturday marks her last trading day, although Karen will not be giving up hairdressing and is instead moving to Walsh’s Hair and Beauty in Horsemarket, Kettering.

Karen said: “I’ve had an enjoyable 10 years in Kettering.

“Obviously some of it has been testing times with the financial climate.

“I’ve made a decision to close the business as I’m not getting any younger and I didn’t want to run a whole business any longer.”

Karen will be starting at Walsh’s on Friday, April 3, and said another business will be moving into the unit made vacant in Sheep Street in the near future.

She added: “It feels a bit like the end of an era.

“I’d like to thank all my customers for their support and loyalty over the past 10 years.”
