A group of fossil hunters based in Kettering are set to feature on ITV next week.

UK Amateur Fossil Hunters will lead a hunt in Charmouth on television show Dinosaur Britain, which airs at 9pm on Monday, August 31, and 8pm on Tuesday, September 1.

The programme, presented by Dean Lomax and Ellie Harrison, will see a group of 30 people trawl for fossils at the world famous Black Ven cliffs.

Group founder Craig Chapman is delighted to get national recognition.

He said: “We’ve worked very hard and we are now the biggest fossil hunting society in the UK, specifically aimed at amateur collectors and enthusiasts.

“When we first started we nearly went bust but we’ve managed to turn it around and now have over 400 members.

“I couldn’t have done it without my team of leaders.”
