Thousands of people braved freezing temperatures to watch the annual Bonfire Night fireworks display at Wicksteed Park, Kettering, on Saturday, November 3.
In driving rain, people watched as the spectacular show – which was set to music including Coldplay and Rihanna – lit up the night sky.
And the weather failed to dampen the spirits of an enraptured audience, which included the Ross family, from Kettering, who brought hot water bottles with them to keep off the cold. They described the evening as fantastic, and said they were “bedraggled but happy”.
A range of fairground rides and snack bars were also on hand to keep up the spirits of the sodden crowd.
Daventry-based MLE Pyrotechnics, considered one of the best fireworks teams in the world, put on the show for the second successive year.
In 2011, around 10,000 packed into Wicksteed Park to watch the display, with similar numbers estimated to have turned out this year.
