Members of the public and local businesses are being invited to take part in the inaugural Kett Fest being held on the first weekend of June.

Festival founders are hoping that an eclectic mix of musicians, artists and performers will come forward to take part in events being held at venues across the town.

Wicksteed Park will host a sculpture trail in its grounds, with a range of other artistic endeavours being showcased at Kettering Arts Centre, Keystone Youth Centre and The Yards.

The festival will be launched on Friday, June 5, with many town centre events on Saturday, June 6, and the final day Sunday, June 7, when venues will be further afield.

Co-founder of Kett Fest Jo Selby-Green said: “This festival has happened very naturally, everyone involved wants to improve and promote our town with positivity.

“This is a call out to all those talented people out there, not just those from Kettering, who we would like to get involved in a fantastic weekend.”

Jo added: “We are looking for local businesses and organisations to come on board, to join forces with local artists offering window displays, promotional offers, sponsorship and donations.”

The Kett Fest logo has been designed using bright red to echo parts of Kettering Council’s official coat of arms and is also designed as a nod to the colour of The Poppies’ official home strip.
