Kettering council has convened a flytipping task group to try and tackle the issue of illegally dumped rubbish.

Figure revealed earlier this month saw 200 recorded incidents in just under four months.

And now Kettering Council are undertaking new methods to combat the problem, utilising intelligence-led data to target enforcement action.

A council meeting heard that Kettering Council were looking to enhance the working relationship with parishes in relation to the issue of flytipping.

Advice or assistance in combatting rural flytipping could by sought by parishes in addition to clearance, with complaints now mapped to link instances of flytipping with specific locations and types of waste dumped.

The council are also concentrating resources on sites that are beginning to emerge as regular dumping locations.

The majority of the occurences are cleared within one day.
