Residents are unable to call Kettering Council after its telephone system suffered ‘total failure’.
Customers trying to contact the council via telephone will not be able to get through.
A spokesman said: “These issues rarely occur. However, the council is working flat out to resolve the problem and is talking with the phone service providers to help identify the cause of the breakdown.
“Kettering Council apologises for the inconvenience caused by this technical fault.”
A notice advising customers has been placed on the council’s website.
The council’s face-to-face customer services centres are open as normal.
Customers can also contact the council via email and via the council’s ‘web chat’ facility on the website.
