Hundreds of pounds has been stolen from a Kettering charity’s Christmas dinner fund.

Mental health charity Mind, in Russell Street, was broken into overnight on Tuesday/Wednesday (December 9/10).

A total of £450, most of which had been saved up by members for their Christmas meal, was stolen.

Thousands of pounds worth of damage was also caused, and wrapped presents bought for some members of the charity were ripped open as the offenders searched for valuables.

Mind team leader Pauline Blyth said she was dismayed by the break-in, adding: “We are trying to run an organisation to help others, and this is what some people do.”
