DIFFERENT community groups are being encouraged to come together at an event being held in Wellingborough to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
The ‘culture-fest’ will take place from 1pm on Monday, June 4, at the Hindu Community Centre in Highfield Road, Wellingborough.
A number of different community groups and organisations will perform singing and dancing at the event.
Organiser Vinod Patel said: “The event is being held to mark the 60th anniversary of the Queen’s reign and the Queen’s excellent relationship with many countries. Northamptonshire Hindu Samaj is organising the event in partnership with Leuva Patidar Samaj and with the support of many other local organisations. This is an opportunity for diverse communities, who feel proud to be a part of British Culture, to come together and celebrate the Diamond Jubilee celebrations. A culture festival is one of the ways we can achieve a kind of shorthand to understand each other.”
