Ignore the chilly January weather – sign up for the annual Brass Monkey 10km race and fun run in aid of Lakelands Hospice, Corby.

The event on Sunday, January 26, at Rockingham Speedway, is being sponsored by the My Community team at RS Components, in the town.

Hospice fundraising manager Paul Marlow said: “Entries have started to flood in and we are expecting a really good turnout.

“All the local athletic clubs are supporting the race and with RS Components kindly offering to sponsor the event, it enables us to make it the biggest and best yet.

“The beauty about the Brass Monkey event is that people don’t have to raise sponsorship, their entry fee alone will be supporting the hospice.”

There will be trophies for the top three in each age category, spot prizes and a goody bag and a medal for every runner.

The 10km race consists of four laps of the circuit and the fun run will be one lap.

Entry forms are available at www.lakelandshospice.org.uk, or by calling 01536 747755.
