Corby’s new Nando’s restaurant has created 39 jobs for the town.
The jobs boost was revealed as the chain welcomed its first customers through the doors of its new 148-seat eaterie this week.
It will sit alongside Italian restaurant chain Prezzo and RBW, which specialises in ribs, burgers and wings, as part of the new cinema complex next to the Cube in Corby town centre.
Regional managing director of Nando’s, Dean Boiles, said: “The locals are so excited for the town’s first Nando’s, and what a brilliant location, conveniently located next to the cinema.”
Also opening in Corby town centre this week is Robert Goddard, an independent company which sells brands including Superdry, Barbour, Ted Baker, Hugo Boss, Diesel, Gant and French Connection.
The new clothing store is due to open today (Friday).
Speaking to the Northants Telegraph last month about the new shop, town centre manager Dan Pickard said: “I think people are going to like it because it is brands that people have asked for in the past but attracting them here has always been a challenge.”
In addition to Nando’s and Robert Goddard, the opening of the new Savoy cinema being built by Mulberry Developments is imminent.
Once completed, it will be capable of seating more than 900 people across six screens and will be fully digital and kitted out with the latest audio-visual technology.
Work on the new state-of-the-art multiplex began on the former Tresham College site, off George Street, in April, and recruitment has started to fill various positions at the cinema.
