Jewellery stolen in burglary in Corby

A large haul of gold and silver jewellery was stolen during a house break-in in Corby.

A burglary took place in Surrey Close, on Friday, July 25, between 12.30pm and 2.30pm.

A police spokesman said: “The victim saw a man walking away from the house at about 2.30pm and asked him what he was doing. The man said he was enquiring about cleaning the driveway and continued on his way.”

The man was white, about 20, with an English accent and was wearing a red T-shirt, blue jeans and trainers.

It is believed he may have walked along Kingsthorpe Avenue, Willow Brook Road or Cottingham Drive.
