MORE than 100 youngsters will take part in a town’s 27th Gang Show this month.
Tickets are now available for the annual event which will be staged at The Castle theatre in Wellingborough from Monday, March 19, to Saturday, March 24.
Scouts, Guides, Cubs and Brownies will be taking part in the show which will feature more than 30 songs from various eras.
The young performers will show their funny side by sharing jokes with their audience.
Guide Hannah Prentice, who is taking part in the show, said: “I love being in the show, I have made so many new friends and this year I will also be taking part in a special show in Birmingham to celebrate 80 year since the first Gang Show.”
Fellow competitor David Hare, who is a Scout, said: “This is my second show, I had so much fun last year I could not wait for rehearsals to start again.
“This year I have a part in one of the front of curtain items which I’m really looking forward to.”
Rehearsals for the show began last September. A lot of work has gone in behind the scenes to create the eight show sets required for the production.
Peter Morrall, the show’s producer for the last 27 years, said: “Each year the young people turn up for the rehearsals every week and work so hard to put on a great show.
“Please come and see a great group of Scouts and Guides put on a show that will surprise you.
“You will not find any camp fires in our show, but songs from the rock era, including hits by Oasis, The Carpenters, Elton John and so much more.
“We hear so much about the trouble with young people, well this is a group people who have been so committed to what they are doing they have not had the time to get into trouble. So why not support them by buying a ticket and coming to see what it’s all about.”
Tickets are available from The Castle theatre’s box office by calling 01933 270007 or online at the website www.thecastle.org.uk.
Tickets range from £6.50 to £10.
