Thursday, December 13

Islip Working Men’s Club will host the annual ‘Christmas Tea’ festivities for the Islip Friendship Club from 2:00pm-4:00pm on Thursday, December 13th. The event will take place in the main hall.

Local actor, James Hornsby will present his one man play ‘A Christmas Carol’ based on Charles Dickins’ bicentenary at Kettering Library at 7:30pm on Thursday, December 13th. Tickets cost £6, and £4 for library friends and volunteers.

The Manor House Museun, Kettering will host an event on how to take care of your treasured possesions for years to come between 2:30pm and 4pm on Thursday, December 13th.

Burton Latimer Town Council Finance and General Purposes Committee meeting will be held at the Civic Centre at 7pm on Thursday, December 13.

Christmas Joy will be presented by Finedon Independent Wesleyan Chapel at Star Hall in Finedon on Thursday, December 13 at 7pm. Wellingborough Citadel Salvation Army Band and young people from the Beavers and Guides as well as St Mary’s the Virgin Church Choir will be featured at the event. Programmes cost £2.50 and children can go free. Refreshments are available after the event.

St Mary’s Church, Higham Ferrers will host a carol service for Henry Chichele School at 6:30pm on Thursday, December 13.

The Corn Market Hall in Kettering will host the christmas celebrations of The East Northants National Trust supporters group on Thursday, December 13 at 7:30pm. Entertainment and a buffet and raffle will be available. Tickets cost £7. Please call 01933 387892.

Friday, December 14

The Mobile Library Service will visit Great Doddington on Friday, December 14th. It will stop in the bus layby at the bottom of Wilby Lane between 3:15pm and 4:15pm.

Great Addington CofE Primary School will present their nativity play at All Saints Church on Friday, December 14th, at 2:00pm. Please inform the school if you wish to attend.

The mobile library will visit Grendon on Friday, Decmber 14th, at 3:30pm in Sweetacre.

Islip Working Men’s Club will see the first of Terry’s 4 ‘festive season bingo specials’ at 8:30pm on Friday, December 14th. The customary £100 big house will be available.

Two Latimer Arts College choirs will be singing carols at Sainsbury’s on Friday, December 14, between 2:30pm and 4:15pm.

The Addington Artisans are appealing for fellow craftspeople to join them in Great Addington village hall on Friday, December 14 for a day of fun crafts between 10am and 4pm. St Peter’s Junior School in Raunds will host their end of term concert in St Peter’s Church at 1:45pm on Friday, December 14.

The Community Carol Service at Hope Methodist Church in Rushden will be hosted by the Mayor, Coun Marian Hollomon at 7pm on Friday, December 14. Refreshments will be available in the village hall afterwards.

Stanwick Women’s Institute will meet at the village hall at 7:30pm on Friday, December 14, where a wartime re-enector will show what Christmas time was like during WW2. Women of all ages are welcome. Tickets cost £4.

A festive evening of carols and entertainment will take place at St Boltolph’s Church in Stoke Albany between 7pm and 9pm on Friday, December 14. Tickets are £5 which includes mulled wine and light refreshments.

Saturday, December 15

A weekend Christmas event, including a quiz, stalls, refreshments and various performances, will be held in aid of St Leonard’s Church, Loddington, on Saturday, December 15 and Sunday, December 16, between 10am and 4pm.

A performance by Northampton Male Voice Choir and the Weldon Handbell Ringers will be held at the Holy Trinity Church, Rothwell, on Saturday, December 15, at 7.30pm, to raise money for St Leonard’s Church in Loddington. Tickets, which cost £7.50 or £20 for a family of two adults and two children, are available at the Rothwell Heritage Centre, Loddington Shop and on the door.

1st Finedon Scout Group’s Christmas Float will bring Santa to Finedon. Santa will visit the top end of Finedon on Saturday, December 15th, and the middle and bottom end on Sunday, December 16th. The collectors will be adults who are wearing official badges and carrying identity.

The Joseph Manning Trust will present Peter Pan by the Magic Theatre Co. on Saturday, December 15th at 2:30pm in Orlingbury Village Hall. Tickets are £4 for adults, £5 for non-village residents, and £3 for children. To book call Gillian on 01933 401340.

The 1st Rothwell Beavers will be hosting a special shopping event at the Community Centre in Well Lane from 10am-1pm on Sturday, December 15, where Father Christmas will be paying a visit. Stalls and face painting will be available.

A learn to paint event for beginners will be held in Stanwick village hall between 2:30pm and 5pm on Saturday, December 15. Admission is £8 and booking is essential. All materials will be loaned to visitors during the class.

A Christmas Bazaar will be held at Woodford Community Sports Complex from 1pm-5pm on Saturday, December 15 where Father Christmas will be greeting visitors.

Sunday, December 16

A weekend Christmas event, including a quiz, stalls, refreshments and various performances, will be held in aid of St Leonard’s Church, Loddington, on Saturday, December 15 and Sunday, December 16, between 10am and 4pm.

A Christmas pageant for the whole family will take place at Barton Seagrave’s village green at 5pm, featuring dozens of actors portraying the key events of the Christmas story. It will be followed by seasonal refreshments in St Botolph’s Church.

The Higham Ferrers Town Carol Service, attended by the Mayor and Town Councillors, will be held at 6 pm on Sunday 16th December, St Mary’s Church. Mulled wine and mince pies will be served at the end of the event.

Gretton silver band will be entertaining the residents of Gretton on Sunday 16th December afternoon. The band will maintain its standing tradition of touring the village playing carols and a selection of Christmas music.

Irthlingborough’s Sunday school and children’s group Little Fishes will be performing a nativity play on Sunday 16th December beginning at 10:30am.

The Baptist Church in Burton Latimer will hold Morning Worship and Junior Church services from 10:45am on Sunday, December 16.

Services for the Third Sunday in Advent will take place in the Holy Trinity Church, Denford with a family worship event starting at 11:00am on Sunday, December 16.

The Parish Church, Geddington, will be hosting a Holy Communion at 8am and a Parish Communion at 9:45am on Sunday, December 16.

All Saints Church, Great Addington, are holding a a morning prayer service at 9:30am on Sunday, December 16. Holy Communion will take place at 9:30am at St Mary’s Church, Little Addington.

A carol service will take place at St Mary’s Church, Grendon, at 6pm on Sunday, December 16.

St Mary’s Church, Higham Ferrers will welcome visitors to Mass at 8am and Sung Mass at 10:15am on Sunday, December 16. The Civic Town Carol service will follow at 6pm.

Hope Methodist Church, Higham Ferrers, will hold a morning service at 10:30am on Sunday, December 16 which will be followed by coffee in the church hall and an evening service at 6pm.

Gateway Community Church, 42 London Road, Kettering will host a Guiness world record attempt for carol singing as part of their service at 6:30pm on Sunday, December 16 where five carols will be sung non-stop.

A children’s Christmas event will be held at the Park House, Kettering on Sunday, December 16 between Midday and 3pm. Arts and crafts and a visit from Santa will be available for free.

St Peter’s Church in Newton Bromswold will be holding a children’s carol service on Sunday, December 16 at 10am.

St Mary’s Church in Ringstead will be hosting a village carol service with a nativity play presented by children on Sunday, December 16 at 6pm.

Rushden Salvation Army will be playing carols at Chevelston Village Hall at 2:00pm on Sunday, December 16. They will also be carolling in the Asda store from 9:20am on Saturday 15th and 22nd.

Hope Methodist Church in Rushden will hold the Junior Church Nativity, led by Mrs Rachael Newman at 10:30am on Sunday, December 16. Coffee will follow in the hall. A candlelit carol service will be held 6pm.

Whitefriars Church, Rushden will hold their nativity at 10:15am on Sunday, December 16 where anyone can ‘walk on’ as part of the performance. Gifts for the partner kidzclub in Merseyside will be collected.

Tuesday, December 18

Rockingham History Group’s Christmas social will be held on Tuesday, December 18th at 7pm in the Village Hall. Brigstock Hand Bell Ringers will play at the christmas meeting of Brigstock Historical Society which will begin at 7:30pm on Wednesday, December 19th. Members are requested to bring Christmas food for the buffet. Wine and soft drinks will be available.
