Police are appealing for information about an accident which took place on the westbound carriageway of the A45, near to the Great Billing junction, during the early hours of Sunday morning.

At about 5.10am, a silver Ford Focus and a white Ford Transit towing a trailer – both travelling westbound – were in collision.

The driver of the Focus – a 24-year-old man from Irthlingborough – was taken to Northampton General Hospital with injuries to his left hand and cuts to his head and face.

The driver of the Transit – a 44-year-old man from Northampton – also went to hospital to be treated for whiplash and shock.
